How Melasma Can Be Eased With Triluma

    By Kelly Weiren

Triluma is a medication cream used to treat a condition called Melasma. This is a condition that affects mostly women, with only 10% of its victims being men. For the most part, darker-toned women are affected by it, but genetics play a role as well.

This has also been known to come on during pregnancy. Its most obvious symptom is that of dark spots and patches on the face, neck and arms, with the majority being on the facial features. Usually, it can be seen on the forehead, nose bridge, cheeks, upper lip and chin. However, it has also been known to appear on the neck and forearms. Makeup and tinted moisturizers usually do not hide this very well, because of the dark pigment patches that show up.

The number of women who suffer from it number approximately at six million and are very widespread in their living demographics. Some families are more genetically prone and will pass down the gene to their children and grandchildren. It depends on your racial background and genetic history as to whether you will possibly suffer from any of these physical symptoms.

This medicated cream is a combination of cortisone, a bleaching agent and a form of Vitamin A. It cannot be used with any other kind of abrasive cleaners, scrubs or skin peel lotions. You must also be very careful to follow the rules of sun avoidance, including using sunscreens and clothes to protect yourself at all times.

This is not a long-term treatment, usually it only lasts six to eight weeks. In this time period, you can see improvement in the coloring of these spots and patches wherever they are placed on your body. As with most conditions, if you're pregnant, you must first check with your doctor before using this or any other skin treatment.

Side effects are pretty average, and one of the main things to keep in mind is that your skin needs to have constant moisture. This cream has an aspect that can perhaps dry your skin out more than normal, so just be sure to keep lotions nearby and the facial moisturizer that you have checked with your doctor beforehand. Indoor tanning must also be avoided during this time, since the rays inside can be just as damaging as sun exposure in the outdoors.

Many of the Triluma customers have seen great results and continue to do so every day. Check with your physician to see if this is the right treatment for you, and perhaps you can acquire a small sample to try before you buy. It is very comforting to finally see relief after suffering from a condition like this for a long period of time.
